Personality:
To Even, the world is an experiment. There is a very good reason that, during his life as Vexen, he earned the title 'Chilly Academic'. The most important thing in his life is his research, and everything around him is something that he can analyse. Unfortunately, in his past, this has led to him making decisions and working in ways that are far from ethical - even before he had his heart and emotions taken from him, he was still amoral enough to conduct human experiments, and has had no qualms about creating sentient beings as part of his further plans.
He's been seen to be quite a coward at times, although his fears (such as the term could apply while he was emotionless) were rational enough ones, direct fears for his own life and safety.
On a positive note, however, he's a dedicated individual. He's willing to put the time and effort into plans and see them through to completion, no matter what they are… and no matter how else people see what he's doing. He's confident in himself, even if no-one else is.

Out of his group, Even (or Vexen) was the greatest believer in their hierarchy. He longs for respect from his juniors, though it's rare enough that he's ever gotten such things: he believes himself to be better than a lot of them seem to see him. He doesn't take kindly to being mocked or having his research belittled, angering very easily at the slightest provocation. In general, he doesn't have the greatest patience for individuals unless he has a reason to do so - he can tend to be rather grumpy overall. He is, however, somewhat easily cowed, easily pushed around by those who are able to show their own strength. He's a follower, not a leader, as much as he might like to think otherwise, and as much as he might like to think himself an authority.

However, he's not just a chilly temper on legs. If someone is actually able to chip through his icy exterior, they'll find that Even can, in fact, be a very loyal and patient person. As Vexen, he remained true to the Organization's goals towards the very end. However, his loyalty is not given without good reason, whether it be a leader's charisma or a higher goal. He needs something to follow, something to believe in, beyond blind idealism.
As a mentor figure, he's patient enough, having been willing to take the time to train a young co-worker in the Organization: he's willing to put up with innocence and naivete as reasons for not knowing something, but he's not willing to put up with wilful stupidity. As one of the guardian figures of a young boy, Even has demonstrated a more directly caring side, wanting to do the best for his young charge and showing obvious concern when the child was lost. He has also been seen to be a little possessive over beings he created as part of an experiment, and hesitates a little before sending them into a troublesome situation… just a little, though. He'll always do what needs to be done, in the end, even if it's unpalatable. Progress was never made by shying away from the unpleasant… as much as he'd like to, sometimes.

All this said, Even is in a difficult situation as of his current canon point. He has only recently regained his heart and emotions, and is still recovering from the aftermath. While it is possible that the traumatic experience might change his outlook on life, and it has certainly shown him the harm in what he's done, it is as of yet uncertain what impact this is going to have on him in the long run.

Canon Powers:
Even's signature ability is cryokinesis. He is able to manifest and control ice around him, and use it as a means of attack. While he has a degree of usage of other elemental and curative magics, these are far exceeded by his ice manipulation skills. He has a limited self-levitation skill, being able to hover around a foot from the ground and move at around a walking pace while in the air. He has also demonstrated an ability to detect the levels of darkness and light present in a human heart.
